As a female plastic surgeon, I like to connect with my patients on a personal level and understand their concerns and expectations. Detailed history and preoperative photos help us assess the breast size accurately so that a surgical plan can be made for the reduction in size desired. It is possible to give an estimate regarding the expected postoperative cup size with some margin of variation.
Breast reduction surgery involves removal of excess breast gland and fat along with breast skin to reshape the breast. The 2 in 1 procedure takes off excess weight and creates a New Youthful looking Uplifted breast. Skin incisions vary between a doughnut, lollipop and an anchor depending on the amount of skin excess. The incision around the areola and in the inframammary fold are blend well and are barely noticeable. The vertical scar tends to lighten and fade with time and good scar care.
Breast reduction surgery can be done as daycare or with an overnight stay. You will be discharged with a prescription of antibiotics and pain killers. Most women do not experience pain after 2-3 days. You can get back to work within 1-2 weeks with caution.
Recovery is quick and patients are back to work in 10-14 days. You will need to use a well fitted sports bra and avoid underwire bras for 6-8 weeks. Some activities like jogging, high impact exercises and swimming will be restricted for 4-6 weeks.

We recommend resuming slow walking the same or the next day of surgery. Some activities like jogging, high impact exercises and swimming will be restricted for 4-6 weeks.
The breast reduction results are designed to last for a long time and patients who follow a healthy lifestyle are more likely to experience a better outcome. Over a period of time, weight fluctuations and gravity and aging will play a role.
Most women will be able to breastfeed Breast reduction surgery but the extent may vary and some supplementation may be required.
Most asymmetries can be corrected by breast reduction surgery. Some minor difference in your body habitus (genetic) may persist.
Nipple and Areola sensation may be reduced in the immediate post operative period but tends to improve over 3-4 months
Weight gain will increase Breast Size. Weight loss will make the breasts loose and they may sag.
